An international marketing research company has found that despite the pressure the industry is under, on line gambling continues to thrive and meet its clients' demands. On line gambling is under intense scrutiny as the US cracks down on offshore gambling concerns; but software analysts say the laws will be almost impossible to enforce; meanwhile on line gambling enthusiasts continue to place their bets. Research shows that on line gambling profits have grown from $834.5 million in 1998, to twice that in 1997. Projections for 2005 online gambling revenue promises to keep pace with, and maybe even exceed these numbers.
