Offshore Gambling Licensing at Kahnawake
The Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) regulates offshore gambling operations for a number of offshore gambling concerns in the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake. Kahnawake is a First Nations reservation in Montreal in Canada. First Nations refers to the native peoples of Canada, who often use the land they live on run to gambling operations that bring money into their communities. The KGC's servers sit on Kahnawake land, which host the offshore gambling operations running under KGC licenses. The offshore gambling commission was created in 1996. After promoting itself as an alternative to offshore gambling operators, the commission issued licenses in 1999.
