More Card Game history

Did you know that Americans invented the well-known joker in card games? And that they also first produced the first varnished and double-headed cards? Card games have been heavily influenced by Americans; as introducing the joker opened opportunities for new card game development. It originated around 1870, and was inscribed as the "Best Bower", the highest card in a card game popular at the time; Euchre. This card game was sometimes called 'Juker' and it is thought that the Best Bower may have been called the Juker. This card eventually developed into the Joker, and moved into card game history
