The History of Blackjack Online
Blackjack online has a history stretching back to the earliest of card games and can trace its roots back to games like Quinze, Trente-et-Quarante, Vingt-Un, Seven-and-a-Half and Baccarat. Probably the closes to casino blackjack, and therefore blackjack online, Vingt-Un, meaning 21, was originally played quite differently. While the original game involved each player, like in blackjack online, reaching for a total of 21, or a Natural, the cards were dealt in rounds. A betting round followed each deal. Unlike blackjack online, only the dealer could Double. If he got a Natural the other players would have to pay him triple.
